Chumba Burger began in a simple way, just like many family stories do around a table, talking about food.
We always loved cooking together. Weekends meant grilling burgers, trying new recipes, and inviting friends and neighbors over. Over time, people started saying the same thing: “You should sell these.” At first, we laughed it off. It felt like a big step. But the idea stayed with us.
One day, we decided to try.
We didn’t open a restaurant. Instead, we chose something that felt closer to who we are a burger van. It gave us freedom. We could travel, meet people, and bring our food directly to local communities.
Starting wasn’t easy. There were long days of planning, saving money, and learning things we had never done before. We had to figure out equipment, permits, menus, and locations. Every small step felt big.
But what kept us going was simple we were doing it together.
Chumba Burger was never just about food. It was about creating a warm, friendly place where people feel welcome. Whether someone stops by for a quick burger or brings their whole family, we want them to feel at home.
Our menu grew naturally. We kept the flavors we loved and added ideas inspired by people we met along the way. Every burger we serve still carries that original feeling something made with care, not rushed or mass-produced.
As we started traveling across different states, we saw how food connects people. Different towns, different stories, but the same smiles when someone takes the first bite.
Today, Chumba Burger has grown, but the heart of it hasn’t changed. It’s still a family business, still built on simple values: fresh food, honest work, and real connections.
And every time we open the window of our van, it still feels like the beginning.
